With the Steelers convincing 41-9 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday they finished the regular season at 12-4, won the AFC North Division and earned the second seed in the AFC Playoffs. They will have a bye when the playoffs start this week.
Like Troy Polamalu I wasn't 100% for Episode 19 of The Terrible Podacast but I played hurt and the team was able to come up with another big win. In Part 1 my partner Dave Bryan of SteelersDepot.com and I discuss the Steelers best offensive performance of the year. The Black & Gold scored TDs on their first four possessions and came away with points all five times they had the ball in the first half. We look at Ben's day spreading the ball around and using his feet on a few occasions to get big first downs. In trying to find something negative we settle on the a running game that didn't have its most productive day.
In Part two we look at the dominating performance by the defense and the decision to play Troy Polamalu. The run defense put up record-setting numbers for the season and on Sunday the defense harassed Colt McCoy all day forcing three interceptions, one by Troy on the game's second play. We also look at some of the young players who got more burn than any other time this year.
In Part 3 we review the first round playoff games and talk about who we'd like to see the Steelers play in their first game if we had a choice. We also touch on the coaching changes occurring on Black Monday and the debacle taking place at Pitt over the past week.
